The symbols in this beautiful design feature the carpenter's right angle square and the draftsman's compass for drawing circles and constructing geometric forms. The grasping hands are the universal sign of brotherhood within a society. The letter "G" is often thought to represent God, but in reality master-masons say the letter means "geometry" -which is the science used by the Creator to fashion the universe. In Mexican-Maya-Andean cosmology the symbol that resembles the letter "G" denotes the Milky Way galaxy which is the very foundation of their cosmology. The triangle is in the shape of the pyramid, itself a sign of the element of fire and the Sun which sees all things as the eye represents. The rays are the warm light of the Sun.
